We are currently working with a fantastic business based in Liverpool. Our client are a lender for short term finance, who are set apart by their experienced and skilled team. They take a common sense approach and are dedicated to delivering service excellence.

As Underwriter, your role will be to underwrite and complete case volumes by progressing deals through the underwriting process to completion, to support the underwriting team by helping manage key relationships and to consider the business objectives and risk appetite when underwriting.

Key responsibilities:

Manage the entire lending process from application through to drawdown.

Manage the oversight of the underwriting and due diligence processes.

Action new lending requests for bridging loans and analyse credit worthiness.

Prepare detailed credit proposals for submission to the Credit Committee.

Prepare offer documentation and ensure all loan conditions are met throughout the drawdown process.

Underwrite loans against agreed lending criteria.

Handle broker calls on specific cases.

Liaise with internal departments and external to effectively manage the lending process.

Assess applications, carry out due diligence as per company requirements.

Liaise with asset managers and monitoring surveyors.

Review of valuation reports and internal due diligence reports.

Build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders, keeping them informed of case progress throughout.

Adhere to company policy & procedures.

Prepare reports for meetings.
