About the Role

We are currently working with a lender based in Liverpool. Our clients are a lender for short-term finance, who are set apart from the rest, by their experienced and skilled team. As HR Manager, your role will be to manage all aspects of the HR operation, from recruitment of talent to ongoing growth and development, as well as assisting senior management in the delivery of strategic objectives that support the overall business plan.

Key responsibilities:
• Manage the overall process of human resources and Health & Safety plans.
• Ensure legal compliance throughout HR Management.
• Develop HR policies and procedures that support the overall company strategy.
• Create and implement a training and awareness programme.
• Create and revise job descriptions.
• Keep the staff handbook up to date.
• Oversee the recruitment process and exit interviews.
• Manage sickness absence and report to the senior management team.
• Report to Senior Management on service performance and outstanding issues.
• Manage complex staff relations including dispute resolution, discipline, grievances and absenteeism.
• Create a recruitment and selection process.
• Support the development of a succession planning strategy, to include evaluation of job roles and pay scales.
• Develop and manage a data protection strategy to comply with UK GDPR.
• Identify any HR and business risks, then devise an action plan to mitigate or remove the risk.


Essential skills:

  • CIPD qualified professional.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office; including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.

  • Good influencing and negotiating skills to ensure business objectives are understood and delivered to all staff.

  • The ability to be proactive and take the initiative.

  • Resilient and able to deal with difficult situations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Methodical and organised.

  • Able to manage time effectively and prioritise workload.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law, legislation and compliance.

  • Excellent listening skills

Desirable skills:

  • Higher National Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or a related subject.

  • Advanced experience of using Microsoft Word/ Excel/PowerPoint.

  • Experience of working in the property or finance market
